Una pasta tipica, a forma cilindrica con tagli obliqui e paralleli alle estremità. Le penne, o pennette, sono nate nel 1865 a Genova per mano del produttore di pasta Giovanni Battista Capurro, che brevettò un macchinario per il taglio diagonale delle penne.
